Mitchell Lonnelle Gleaton was born January 11, 1977, to Joann Glenton-Brooks and the late Ezell Gleaton. Mitch, as he was affectionately known, departed this life on February 3, 2026.
A Time to Grow
Mitch was educated in the Lexington County School. He enjoyed learning new things and expanding his knowledge.
A Time to Love
Mitch loved his family and cherished spending time with them. He was always the life of the party, well known, and loved meeting new friends. He treated his friends like family. His favorite catchphrase was "Not Right Now!"
A Time to Live
Mitch enjoyed fishing and cooking and took great pride in keeping the kitchen spotless. He was also a jack of all trades, making him the family and neighborhood handyman, always willing to lend his skills wherever they were needed.
A Time to Mourn
Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Ezell Gleaton; his loving grandparents, Joseph and Annie Anderson; and Mr. Lonnelle Gleaton.
A Time to Remember
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Taallijah Grant; his loving mother, Joann Brooks; sisters, Cynthia (Jerry) Simpkins, Toshiba Gleaton, and Yolanda (Anthony) Staley; step-brother, Jeffrey Mackie; aunts, Linda Wines, Brenda Wynn, Tanya Jones, Shirley Cooper, Diane Jones, Vera Gleaton, Lizzie Robinson, Ruby Wilson, and Sylvia Jenkins; uncles, Laverne (Mary) Gleaton, Russell (Ann) Gleaton, and Nathanial (Paulette) Gleaton. He is also lovingly remembered by three nieces, two nephews, three great-nieces, six great-nephews, great-uncle, Charles Wines, two very special friends, Christel Kenley and Michael Vanover, and a host of other sorrowful family members and friends
