Minnie Pearl Brown Obituary

Minnie Pearl Brown was born March 5, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter and fourth child of the late Moot and Rena Tyler Green. She entered eternal rest on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Minnie was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud Shamrock of Eau Claire High School.  She worked in grocery retail and also as a waitress at multiple restaurants in the City of Columbia.

Minnie Pearl was known for her beautiful smile and laugh that would light up a room. She was humble, generous, and kindhearted. Her heart was made of pure gold. She loved to sing, dance, play spades, “pop her chewing gum”, crossword puzzles, attend church, and sing in the choir.

Though she is no longer physically with us, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and love touched many lives.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Jacquelyn Green-Spells; brother, Willie Lee Tyler; aunt, Azalea Curry; and uncle, TJ Tyler.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Ronnie Lee Brown, Sr.; devoted son, Ronnie Lee Brown, Jr. “Boogie Man” as she would call him of Columbia, SC; her loving grandchildren, Zion “ZY” Brown and Harlee Brown; and their mother, Shelbra Bennett, all of Columbia, SC;  siblings, Charles (Gloria) Tyler, Mary Kay (Larry) Moses, Marsha (Willie) Hartwell, and Virgina (John) Lakin; her special companion, Floyd Murphy; sisters, Diane Green, Margaret Smalls; aunt, Linda Tyler Anderson of Salley, SC; dear family friend, Meka  Clinton; devoted niece, Laverne (Lateigh) Spells; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and dear friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
