Minnie Geiger Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Lee Bowman Geiger, was born May 2, 1929 in Lexington County, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph Bowman and Gussie Bouknight.  She departed this life and peacefully entered into eternal rest with the Lord in the early morning hours of Friday, November 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Ms Minnie, as she was affectionately called, attended the public schools of Lexington County, and  worked many years as a Domestic Technician.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Henry Lee Geiger, Sr who preceded her in death.  This union was blessed with more than 57 years of love, devotion, and the births of five children.

At an early age, Mrs. Geiger joined Pleasant Spring AME Church where she attended services faithfully until her health started to decline.  She served in several capacities including the Women’s Missionary Society and was Vice President of the Pulpit Aide.

Ms. Minne, was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing.  Along with being the Atlanta Braves biggest fan, she loved to cook and made sure her family was well taken care of.

Mrs. Geiger was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband. A son, Joseph Earl Geiger, Sr. Grandson Joseph Earl Geiger, Jr. Sisters; Mae Bell Brown, and Laura Bowman Coleman. Brothers, Charles (CD) Bouknight, John Earl Bowman, David Bowman, and James Bowman.

She leaves to cherish her fond and precious memories a daughter, Gussie Geiger Kennedy of Irmo, SC; three loving sons, Henry L. Geiger, Jr., Brent (Juliet) Geiger, and Charles Andre Geiger all of Irmo, SC. Five loving Grandchildren, Erica Geiger, Tara Geiger, Jonathan Geiger, Courtney Huiett, and Brent Geiger, Jr.;  One Great-Grandson, George “Dunkin” Cannon Jr.  Two brother- In-Laws, Samuel (Rose) Geiger of Columbia SC and Johnny O.
