Minister Ronald C. Freeman

Ronald Christopher Freeman,was born on October 14, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of John and Anna (Caldwell) Freeman. On Friday, July 10, 2026, he passed away in the comfort of his home at the age of 57, in Elgin, South Carolina.

Ronald grew up in Columbus, OH and graduated from Centennial High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Army, serving as a D3 Cavalry Scout for 7 years and 7 months. A proud Gulf War Veteran, Ronald exemplified courage, discipline, and service throughout his life. He went on to serve for over 20 years in law enforcement, concluding in a role with the City of Chester Police Department as an Investigator until his retirement on December 18th, 2023. 

Known for his strong faith and devoted love for his family, he enjoyed listening to all genres of music.  His love for PlayStation often turned new game releases into family adventures, with everyone eagerly standing in line together to purchase the latest editions of his favorite titles, including Call of Duty, Madden, and NCAA Football. He was a man after God’s own heart who found purpose in teaching others the Word of God.

He leveraged his gift of teaching to develop law enforcement personnel as the Training Lieutenant for the Department of Mental Health-Public Safety.  In this role, he instructed all newly hired officers in essential policies, procedures, and public safety practices, ensuring they met departmental certification requirements before attending the police academy. 

His life reflected steadfast commitment, loyalty, and compassion forroa his community. His active participation in organizations that aligned with this passion was apparent. Ronald was a proud member of several organizations, including Columbia College Drive Church of God – Ministerial Staff Member, Jerusalem Baptist Church – Ministerial Staff, Member Kappa Lambda Chi – Military Fraternity, Knights of Pythagoras – Youth Organization and Prince Hall Mason – 32-degree Mason.

Ronald will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
