Milton V. Owens was born August 24, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late James and Rosa Bell Owens. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at PRISMA Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Milton was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He was employed for many years in construction until a work injury rendered him disabled.
At an early age, he was baptized at Central Baptist Church.
During his spare time he enjoyed body building and training others at the YWCA. Milton was known to be a kindhearted jokester, and a protector of those he loved.
Though he is no longer physically with us, he will be remembered as a loving and kind man to all those who came into his presence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sonya Lamb Owens; and two brothers, Wardell Willingham Jr., and Curtis Owens.
Those who are forever cherishing fond and precious memories are his daughter, Roshawn (Larry) Dampier of Florissant, MO; son, Milton Sterlin Owens of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Zoe` Rose Jackson; brothers, Emmanuel Owens of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Izetta (Larry) Slade of Burlington, NC, Patricia Owens of West Columbia, SC; and Theresa Bankins of N. Bethesda, MD; a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
