Michael L. Finch

Michael L. Finch was born February 8, 1954, the youngest son of the late Fordham Edward and Ellen Pringle Finch. He departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.

“Mike” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Dreher High School. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina, later serving in the United States Air Force. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge, he became an entrepreneur and was the owner of Finch Home Renovations.

No matter what life looked like for Mike, he loved the Lord and studied the Bible. When ever life brought a stumble, he never gave up but got back up and made the best of what God had for him.

Mike would not want us to mourn for him, instead he would want us to rejoice and trust in the Lord. Michael came to terms with his life, his lifestyle and the consequences that came with it. Though the family chain has been broken, Michael is free!

In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by his brother, Fordham E. Finch Jr.

Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Mike are his loving sons, Eric Finch and Robert Slack; and loving sisters, Earline Glasgow, Doris Jones, and Debra Finch; four grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
