Michael Liverman, Sr.

Michael Albert Liverman was born March 3, 1951, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Ceven Liverman and Harriet Goodwin Titus.  He departed this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of seventy-five (75).

At an early age, Michael was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, South Carolina. 

He was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One where he attended Howard Elementary, C. A. Johnson High School, graduating  from  Booker T. Washington High School in the Class of 1969.

Upon graduating he worked as a custodian at C. A. Johnson and Airport High Schools.  He was later employed with the Department of Mental Health as a cook, Kitchen Coordinator and in Custodial Services for more than twenty years.

Michael was a loving and caring person who volunteered at church events, as well as helping those in need at home or on the job. He was a “Busy Body” who loved working in the yard or under the engine of a car, on a weed eater, or simple things like a watch.  To Michael everything needed a “Tweek” or “Fix” which sometimes went awry.  He always wanted to help.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lola  “Snookie;” son, Michael Liverman, Jr.; siblings, John R. Liverman, Ceven Liverman, Patricia Rumph, and Bernadette Williams.

Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories are his loving daughter, Laura, who he called “Sweet Pea”; and her mother, Shirley Ann; his son, Christopher Liverman, and his mother, Debra Palmer; nieces, Evie Fleming, April Woodyard, and Denise Williams; nephews, Kenneth (Alethea) Liverman, Ceven H. Liverman, David Williams, III, Lu-Quan Liverman, Antonio R. (Shamika) Williams, John D. Rumph, Gregory Williams, and John  Ceven Liverman; great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, Nita Hughes, Mark (Carleen) Hughes, Sallie Richardson and Betty Ann Jenkins; great-uncle, Bobby (Eunice) Hughes; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
