Michael D'Angelo Henley was born May 30, 1985 in Brunswick, Georgia, to Michael Davis and Felicia Henley Smith. He was the eldest of four children on his mother’s side and the middle child of three on his father’s side. Michael was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Bessie and Eugene Flowers, who played a major role in shaping the man he became. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina
Michael received his education in the Glynn County School System, where he also discovered a deep love for football. He was a talented athlete who brought passion and determination to the field. Beyond football, Michael was a proud member of a motorcycle group, where he enjoyed the thrill of the ride and the bond of brotherhood. One of his greatest joys was grilling—whether it was a weekday or a special occasion, Michael was always ready to fire up the grill and bring people together with food and laughter.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to his devoted wife, Sophia H. Henley; two stepchildren, Jadann and Jordann Hill. He also leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Felicia (James) Smith; father, Michael Davis; maternal grandmother, Vivian L. Jackson; and paternal grandfather, Rev. Bill Davis, who is blessed to be a centenarian.
Michael will also be remembered fondly by his siblings including five brothers, Anthony (Sinetta) Grant, Jr., Kendeal Henley, Brandon Davis, Marcus (Michell) Grant, and Darrell Williams; and two sisters, Freda Johnson and Tanzania Alexander; nine nephews; and five nieces; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Michael’s warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
