It is with great sadness that we gather to acknowledge with family and friends the earthly transition of our beloved sister, mother and friend, Melvenia Ann Bracey Outen. She departed this life for her heavenly home on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
On November 3, 1952, in Kershaw County, in Camden, South Carolina, God blessed the late Edward “Red” and Janie Mae Harris Bracey with the birth of Melvina Ann, where she was raised in a loving and Christian home.
At a very young age, she gave her life to Christ and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church of Camden, South Carolina.
Melvina was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County and later graduated from Columbia Junior College in Columbia, South Carolina. She was marred to the late Larry Outen.
Upon graduating, she began her career at BF Goodrich, formally known as Thermoid, where she worked for over thirty (30) years. Melvina was known as a quiet person, who was a hard worker and kept to herself. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirt will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Outen was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Outen; brother, Norman Bracey; and her sister, Ella Mae Bracey.
