Mary Anna Duncan Moore was born on December 19, 1951, in Clarkesville, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of the late Robert E. Duncan and Mary A. Duncan. She departed this earthly life on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Prisma Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mary was educated in the public schools of Clarksville, Tennessee where she was a graduate of Burt High School. During her time at Burt High School, she was a member of the cheering squad and the basketball team.
For 30 years Mary was employed with Johnson Food Service as a cook at Fort Jackson Army Base. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her gift with family and friends.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of Brookland Baptist Church.
In her spare time, Mary enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and watching romantic and mystery movies. She was also incredibly competitive and enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew her.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memoires are her husband, Walter Moore; children, Carlton Smith, Jr., LaCresha Hickman, and Shanika Flemming; son-in-law, Clyde Hickman; adoring grandchildren, Bryan Cash, Megan Smith, Jaylin Lynch, Carlton Smith III, Layla Flemming, Eden Flemming, Christian Hickman, Clyde Hickman Jr., and Cayden Hickman; great granddaughter, Nala Cash Parish; caring brothers, Robert Duncan, Phillip Duncan, and Demetrius Duncan; loving sisters, Germayne Gardner, and Jernice Briggs; caring sister-in-law, Marsha Duncan; and host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
