Mary Ann McDaniel was born February 24, 1955, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Willie McDaniel and Marie Wylie McDaniel. She was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Mary, affectionately known as “Big Mac,” by family and friends, was educated in the Public Schools of Fairfield County. Before her health declined, she was employed at Sisters of Charity Providence Hospital in Food Service.
Mary was a very outspoken and caring person. Her Love Language was giving and helping others in need. Her hobbies were going to yard sales, and decorating. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed talks, spending time with God and listening to gospel music. Mary also enjoyed flowers, gardens, and everything that was beautiful and in bloom. Everyone who knew Mary, knew she loved to laugh and stayed looking young.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Carlous McDaniel; and sisters, Sally Young and Claudette McDaniel.
Mary leaves precious memories to never be forgotten to her six loving children, Kathy Marie McDaniel of Atlanta, GA; Marsha (Henry) Boler of Columbia, SC, Shawnda McDaniel of Columbia, SC, Tabitha (Kevin) Branham, Baretta (Michael) Gibson, both of Blythewood, SC, and Coby McDaniel of Columbia, SC; fifteen grandchildren, Kayla, Markita, Christopher, Te’Arica, George, Jarrod, Antonio, April, Tyeasha, Justin, Maurice, Dontrell, Carlayasia, Journey and Colby Jr.; a host of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert McDaniel of Philadelphia, PA, and Willie (Ester) McDaniel of Winnsboro, SC; two sisters, Alberta Eggleston of Philadelphia, PA, and Martha McDaniel; a host of nephews, nieces; a special daughter, Samantha Goodwin; and her special friend, Louis Souvienance, all of whom will dearly miss her.
