Marlino Schooler Obituary

Ms. Marlino Schooler, affectionately known as Marla or Marlene, was born on September 6, 1946 in Louise, Texas.  She was the youngest child of the late Mr. Elmo Schooler, Sr. and Mrs. Vertie Williams Schooler.  She departed this earthly life on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

Marlino graduated from Carver High School in Louise, Texas in 1966 where she was a member of the student council, a cheerleader, played basketball, played on the band, and sang on the school choir. She later enlisted in the US Armed Forces where she served for 12 years. She continued her education at Midlands Technical College, in Columbia, SC. She was later employed by Richland County School District One in transportation for 8 years. Marlino became very well known around all the schools in District One. She later changed her career path and became a certified nursing assistant (CNA).   She was employed with Life Care and also did at home personal health care.

Marlino was a child of God and a member of Bibleway Church of Atlas Road, Columbia, SC.  She later attended Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church the last 4 years of her life.  She often spoke of becoming a member of Ridgewood Missionary Baptist Church, but due to her illness she was unable to fulfill her spiritual goal.  Marlino was loved by many and she showed love to many.

Marlino was preceded in death by her parents; Mr. Elmo Schooler, Sr. and Mrs. Vertie Williams Schooler; siblings; Eliza Schooler Parker, Iris Schooler Griffin, Elmo Schooler, Jr., Archie Schooler, MC Schooler, Norcie Schooler, Annie Schooler Beal, and Melba Schooler Griffin.

Ms. Schooler leaves to mourn her passing; two daughters, Nikkia Allen and Davia Allen- Knightner (Cisco); grandchildren; Armani Allen, Da’Naja Miller, Nicholas Moses, Da’Scian Miller, Tyler Knightner, Braelyn Knightner, Lai’Kyn Knightner; a sister, Ms. Juanita Schooler Griffin; special Niece Rose Marie McDaniel;  special Friend, Mr. David Allen (Vivian)  & Lisa Davis Yon and a  host of other relatives and friends.
