Marilyn Douglas Obituary

Mrs. Marilyn Douglas was born on September 6, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ezra Z. Shaw, Jr. and Mildred O. Walton Shaw. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Prisma Health Heart Hospital, Marilyn went home to be with the Lord.

Marilyn was united in holy matrimony to Ralph Douglas, Sr., on September 6, 1972. Their union was blessed with four children. She had many jobs before relocating to South Carolina. Upon arriving to Columbia, she began working at Midlands Center.

Marilyn was an usher for Resurrection House Church.

She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing games on her phone, playing cards, and gathering with her church family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Douglas, Sr.; two sisters, Glenda Shaw, and Jenice Shaw; one brother, Barry Shaw; grandson, Ermias Brown; and nephew, Darrell Biggs.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her memories four children, Yolanda (Raymond Bailey) Douglas, Ralph (Bobbie Lynn) Douglas, Jr., Anthony (Julisa Jones) Douglas and Sherrie (Clinton) Brown; four grandsons, Kenneth Triminal Sr., Ezra Heatley, DayShaun Douglas, and Elias Brown; one granddaughter, Empryss Brown; and one great grandson, Kenneth Triminal, Jr., all of Columbia, South Carolina; two brothers, Michael Shaw, Sr. and Carl Shaw both of Memphis, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other loving relatives and friends, all of who will miss her dearly.
