Sis. Louise Kirven Gantt entered into this life on January 17, 1936 in Darlington, South Carolina and she peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord on Friday, September 4, 2020. Sis. Gantt was the youngest child of the late Harold and Julia Simon. She was preceded in death by her husband, MSG Henry Elton Gantt; son, Reginald Delane Kirven and Sister, Elouise S. Ford.
Sis. Gantt was educated in the public schools of Darlington County and graduated from Mayo High School (1954), attended Ty College, New York with a major in Business Education, later she achieved a Business Associate Degree from Midlands Technical College, Columbia, South Carolina.
At an early age, Sis. Gantt accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Lawson Groove Baptist Church, Darlington, South Carolina. Upon moving to Columbia, she joined the Second Nazareth Baptist Church and was a long-time faithful member for 58 years. She was committed to "service" and served faithfully as a member of the Trustee Ministry, Senior Missionary Society, Willing Worker's Club, Blessed Hands Ministry, and Stewardship Committee. She loved the Lord, was a great supporter of the Second Nazareth Baptist Church, and worked faithfully until her health declined. Also, she was an active member of the Light of Columbia Tent.
She began her 31-year banking career at First National Bank of South Carolina. Through mergers she continued her career at South Carolina National Bank and Wachovia Bank, NA. During her banking career she held positions as a Personal Banker and Branch Manager at Forest Drive and Hampton Hills branches in Columbia. She was known for helping customers and proving good quality service. After retiring from banking. Sis. Gantt continued to work in Finance at Belk's for nine years.
Her hobbies included traveling to the mountains with friends and family in the fall, and shopping online. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile.
Her family will cherish her fond memories as a loving mother and a Christian woman who loved God. She leaves to morn her passing; her loving son, Harry Kirven; niece, Jackie Ford; cousin Reverend Andrew Sansbury; special goddaughter, Bridgit Hawkins; Grand Nephew, Juan D. Ford, all of Columbia, South Carolina; Grand Niece Moenika Ford of Greenwood, South Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
