To know Lordwin was to know a man who lived life on his own terms—fiercely, joyfully, and always with a bit of an edge. Born on August 28, 1987, in Richland County, Columbia, SC, he was the son Eartha Bonita Bennett Anderson and the late Albert Bennett, Jr.
Lordwin grew up in Dorchester County, attending Fort Dorchester High School before graduating from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. He was accepted to Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, but his mama—his anchor and rock-thought that was too far, so he stayed closer to home, earning an associate's degree in electronics from Spartanburg Community College. Lordwin loved playing football in high school, loved music, and never turned down a chance to dance.
He worked in collision repair for a time, but what really energized him was the thrill of the moment-whether it was traveling somewhere new, deep into a cool video game. He was a passionate Gamecocks fan, quick to laugh, quick to love, and, depending on the day, quick to let you know exactly what was on his mind.
Above all, Lordwin loved his people. His big smile, his big energy, and his even bigger personality left an impression on everyone who crossed his path. He was full of fire, full of life, and he left his mark on every person blessed enough to know him.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted mother, Bonita Bennett Anderson; his stepfather, Jerome Anderson; his caring brother, Deon (Marquita) Bennett; his adoring children, Ryleigh, Lordwin Christopher Jr. ("LJ"), and Amia Bennett; his grandfather, Wallace Tribble; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward.
Lordwin lived loud, loved hard, and left us far too soon. But if you knew him, you knew he wanted you to remember him with a smile, maybe a little laughter, and definitely a good song playing in the background.
