Liziella Beadle Obituary

The sun rose on Tuesday, May 1, 1945, for Liziella Jones in Enfield, North Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Bobbitte and Odessa Wade Jones.  On Monday, June 15, 2026, the sun set for Liziella in Columbia, South Carolina, as she went home to meet her Heavenly Father.

She was educated in the public school system of Enfield, North Carolina. She graduated from Enfield High School in 1964, where she played varsity basketball.

Ms. Liz, as she was affectionately known by friends and family, was a quiet woman of faith. Her shy smile was a small indication of her deep love for her family. Spending time with her loved ones was most important to her. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners, where she delighted her family with some of their favorites, including her pound cake and special sour cream mashed potatoes.

Liz and her mother later moved to Paterson, New Jersey, where she met Raymond Smith, Sr. They were married in November 1964. The couple later relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked for Richland School District One in the Food Service Division. After the tragic, untimely death of her husband, Raymond Sr., in 1976, she turned her focus to providing for her children. She later met and married James Beadle in 1981. Liz was a dedicated employee of Square D for thirty-nine (39) years, faithfully serving there until her retirement.

Liziella was a faithful and dedicated member of Miracle of Faith Christian Center where she attended faithfully and regularly until her health declined.  Her faith in God was unwavering and something she shared with all who would listen. There was nothing she would not do to help others, especially her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Beadle.

Ms. Liz will forever be missed by her loving sons, Marvin Jones, Raymond (Berline) Smith, Jr., Regan (Dalilah) Smith, and Torrance (Kristi) Beadle, all of Columbia, South Carolina; her caring brothers, Marvin Jones and Jerry (Stephanie) Jones, both of Maryland; William (Tonya) Jones of Virginia, and Alvin Williams of North Carolina; loving sisters, Barbara Jean (Zagchary) Robinson and Carolyn Rawls both of Delaware; twelve (12) grandchildren, nineteen (19) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
