Lewis “Good-Man” Jackson was born September 22, 1949, in Coco Beach, Florida, the beloved son of the late Eisabell Covington and Wesley Jackson. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
“Good-Man,” as he was affectionately called was a devoted husband to Cheryl, and a loving father to Cheryl, Charnie, David and James.
Lewis was hard working and dedicated. He spent 30 years working as a Laborer with Gregory Electrical Company, where he was known for his professionalism, steady support, and reliability in every task. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family.
Lewis’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed watching Western television shows and often spent his weekends fishing and going to church, where he was a member of Bible Way of Piedmont Ministries.
Although Lewis may have been uncomfortable in the spotlight, his many years of dedication as a husband and father merit recognition and respect. To remember the man that Lewis was is to remember the hope and positivity he had in any situation. Though we have lost a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a die heart New England Patriots fan, we will never lose the hope and love that he instilled in all of our lives.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Cheryl Jackson; children, Cheryl (Gerald) Taylor, Charnie Jackson, David Jackson, and James Jackson; grandchildren, Brittany Myers, Frederick Myers, Whitney Myers, Carnetrice (Marquise) Ramey, Antoinette (Johnathan) Turner and Tykesha Johnson; as well as his loving sisters, Jacquline Savage and Crystal Anderson; and brothers, Thomas Mitchell, William Mitchell and Rodney Robinson; and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
