Leroy LaBrew

Deacon Leroy LaBrew Sr. was born June 13, 1941, in Eastover, South Carolina, the beloved son and last surviving child of the late Levi and Flora Davis LaBrew.  On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, he departed this earthly life to be with the Lord.

Leroy received his education through Richland County School System and graduated from Weber High School. He dedicated more than forty years of service to Baptist Hospital before retiring.

Deacon LaBrew was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at The Bible Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, here in Columbia, South Carolina. He remained a devoted and faithful member, serving in the church until his health began to decline. He found joy in listening to music, fishing and spending quiet time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Watkins LaBrew; sisters, Irene LaBrew Adams, Martha LaBrew Pringle, Amy LaBrew Nelson, Estelle LaBrew Goodwin, Corrine LaBrew; brothers, Robert Lee LaBrew, Roosevelt LaBrew, James LaBrew; and his granddaughter, Kristen Greene.

Deacon Leroy LaBrew leaves to mourn his passing his loving daughter, Mrs. Levonne (Leroy) Greene of Gastonia, North Carolina; two sons, Leroy LaBrew Jr. of Columbia , South Carolina and Lawrence LaBrew of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; five grandsons, Jarrod Greene, Darius LaBrew, DeMar LaBrew, Denzel LaBrew, and LeBron LaBrew; four granddaughters, Jasmine (Travis) Waters, Della LaBrew, Lauren LaBrew, Layla LaBrew; five great grandchildren, Gabriel Greene, Marisela Greene, Josiah Greene, Christian Greene, and Jamie LaBrew; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
