Lenny Corley, Sr. Obituary

Lenny William Corley Sr, a resident of 716 Pine Street, Columbia, SC was born on June 8, 1971 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Lunburg William Corley and Edna Corley. At the age of eight, he and his family moved to Columbia, SC where he was raised in Latimer Manor, where he met a lot of his friends and earned the nickname “Black” or “Light Skin Lenny”. He departed his lovely life on Friday, October 2, 2020 at his home.

Lenny attended the public schools of Richland School District One.

Lenny, A.K.A. “Black”, was the sweetest, coolest person to meet. The worlds best father, son, uncle and friend. Every time you saw Lenny, he would brighten up your day, with that pretty big white smile. Lenny started working as a roofer at the age of 17 years old. He worked as a roofer for 20 plus years. After retiring from roofing, he became a dishwasher at Pawleys Front Porch for 9 and a half years where he met a lot of friends that loved him and called him “Pops”. Lenny loved to play basketball and was a big fan of the New York Knicks. He also loved to see the San-Francisco 49ers play on Sundays.

Lenny had four biological kids and other kids that he took in as his own. His heart was so big and kind. He was the proudest grandfather of nine grandkids that adored and cherished him. The love he showed made him the “World’s Greatest Father”

He was preceded in death by his father, Lunburg William Corley; grandmother, Alberta Richardson; grandfather, Peter Leon Richardson and his brother.

Those left to cherish fond and precious memories are his children, Lenny (Ebony) Corley Jr., Shanyelle Davis, Shalaine Corley, Dontrelle Corley, DeaAndre Martin, Perry Maxwell, Jemica Maxwell, Rochelle Maxwell and Briana Montgamony; mother; Edna Corley; sister, Thersa (Brandon) Corley; common law wife, Donnyel Porter; nine grandchildren, Shabreisa, Danillie, Keshawn, Lenny III, Faith, Demauri, Zion, Alaina, Imani; three nieces, Nakota Mack, Ryesha Walker, Niyesha Jones; three nephews, Clint Walker, Kareem Jones and Corey Brown Jr.; two uncles, Peter (Deloris)  Richardson, James (Catherine) Richardson, Joe Richardson; special aunt, Cassandra Richardson;  five aunts; kids mother, Doretha Maxwell; a host of cousins, brothers and friends that will miss him dearly.
