Larry T. Leverette

Larry Tyrone Leverette formally of McCormick, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at his residence in Summerville, South Carolina.

He was born on December 2, 1959, to the Iate Hervey "Son" and Genola "Gennie" Leverette. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister Lorenda Leverette, a brother, Paul L. Leverette, a sister-in-law Sandra Leverette, and a brother-in-law Rev. Willie "Bubba" Marshall.

Larry joined Shiloh AME Church at an early age and remained there until his death.  He was a 1978 graduate of McCormick High School.

After high school, he enrolled into South Carolina State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1982. While attending SCSU, he received the Distinguished Military Student Award in ROTC. He was also a member of the Marching 101 Band and a member of the National Society of Scabbard and Blade.

After graduation, Larry was awarded a certificate in recognition years of 30 years of service in the Government of the United States of America.

He had a passion for bowling and softball. He was a member of the "Just for Fun" softball team that won several championships and the "Thursday Mixed Nuts" bowling league that won several championships as well.  He also was a "die-hard" Pittsburgh Steelers fan and collected most of their memorabilia.  He was known for always being a Distinguished gentleman and highly stylish. He enjoyed watching Young and the Restless, entertaining family and friends with a home cooked meal and known as a dancing machine.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one brother and four sisters that loved him and will miss him dearly; Douglas (Reberta) Leverette of Chandler, Arizona, Valerie L. Marshall of Thomson, Georgia, Failey “LeeLee”4' (George) Pasley of Greenwood, South Carolina, Faye (Kenny) Puckett of McCormick, South Carolina, and Charlayne (Cleveland) Moton of Greenwood, South Carolina.

Although Larry never married or had any biological children, a young man entered his life that he embraced as his Godson, Adrian "AJ" (Courtney) Failey, who looked upon him as a true father figure.

Five Adoring Uncles and Aunts also cherish his memory; They include Lorrine Leverette of Detroit, Michigan, Paul _(Patricia) Leverette, and Barbara (Eddie) Talbert each of McCormick, South Carolina.

He played a major role in helping to care for his siblings' children and was always the "one call" Uncle who showed up. He also leaves to cherish eleven nieces and nephews: Antoinette, Christon, Rochelle, Regina, Reginald, Lavelle, Candace, Porsche, Christina, Todd, and Gregory, twenty- four great nieces and nephews; Sha, Whitney, Tesía, Shana, Kiara, Kyejah, Robert "RJ", Kamryn, Ragaine, Victorin, Mekhi, Venus, Jaiden, Jacambrian, Dorian, Isaiah, Landon, Layla, Ava, Micheal Jr, Lyric, Ella, and Ivy, ten grent-great-nieces and nephews; Winter, Khloe, Quinton, Aiyah, Azaiyah, Ömari, Dash, Legend, Miley, and Noah.

Larry also leaves behind, a long time, devoted friend Donna Stanback, the "Just for Fun" softball team, the "Thursday Mixed Nuts" bowling league, a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy.

He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, unwavering loyalty and love for everyone he met.
