Larry Sims

Mr. Larry “Strawberry” Sims, was born July 17, 1959 in Richland County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Preston Sims Sr. and Mrs. Bessie P. Sims. Larry departed his life on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Larry attended public schools in Richland County. He was baptized and became a member of Saint Mark Church where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. He volunteered his time with Eastway Park Community Planning Committee, where they planned neighborhood events for the youth.

Larry was employed at the University of South Carolina, and Southeastern Concrete, where he was dedicated and faithful. God blessed him to move forward with his passion and desire to have his own business, Larry’s Lawn Service.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Mr. Larry “Strawberry” Sims leaves precious memories to his son, Enrique Sims; his daughter, Lar’Shea Sims (Tyrus) Maxwell; two loving grandsons, Master Tyrus Maxwell Jr., and Master Tyron Maxwell; brothers, Preston Sims Jr. of Gadsden, SC, Thomas Sims Sr., and Dandy Sims all of Columbia, SC; sisters, Sarah S. Anderson of Hopkins, SC, Nancy S. Strong of Columbia, SC, Lillian (Terry) Williams of Hopkins, SC, Evelyn (John) Walker of Gaston, SC, and Latorshea T. Sims of Columbia, SC; his last surviving aunt, Mrs. Pauline P. Brown; and a host of loving relatives and caring friends who will miss him dearly.
