Larry Hopkins, Sr.

Larry Hopkins, Sr. was born April 8, 1953, in Richland County, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Lottie Mae Kirkland.  On Saturday, April 23, 2022, he departed this earthly life peacefully at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. 

“Tramp,” as he was affectionally called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County.  Larry’s passion was rebuilding, restoring and repairing cars.  He also enjoyed manicuring residential yards and landscaping business. 

Larry loved his family and spent quality time sharing stories about his life and various experiences.  In his spare time, he enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and watching movies.  In addition to his mother, Larry was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Viola Hopkins.

Those who will forever cherish his fond and precious memories are his caring sons, Antonio Smith and Larry Hopkins, Jr., both of Columbia, SC; and his loving daughters, Ymeki (Eddie) Stevens of Acworth, GA; Jerima (Maurice) Allen and Neosha (Calvin) Livingston, both of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
