Larry Roger Goines

Larry Roger Goines was born on October 13, 1949, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the fourth child of David “D.W.” Goines, Sr. and Sarah Gadsden Goines.  He departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2019, after an extended illness.

Larry was educated in Richland County School District One.  Larry married Teresa Ann Johnson Goines (who preceded him in death) in 1983. From this union, they had one daughter, LaTesha “Pumpkin” Goines.

Larry was an active lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served on the Jubilee Choir and Brotherhood Ministry.

Larry was a hardworking man all his life and to provide for his family he often wore many hats.  He was employed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Coca Cola, Rockwell, and Richtex Brick.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers Phillip and David Jr.; his sisters Virginia and Diane; his brothers-in-law Eugene “Gene” Seaton, Ulysses Cornelius and Leroy Walker.

Those left to celebrate Larry’s life are his daughter, LaTesha “Pumpkin” Goines; grandchildren, TaShawna Davis and JaNaia Davis, sisters, Glinder “Lois” Goines, Carolyn Seaton, Linda Wood; sisters-in-law, Alice Goines and Vermell Brown; brothers-in-law, Eli Ronnie Wood, Randy Johnson, Ernest Johnson and Bert Johnson; Godchild, Demetrius Goines and God grandchildren, Maya Johnson and Na’Ziere Anthony; many loving nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and very close friends, all who will mourn his earthly death, but will forever rejoice that he is resting with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
