Lamont C. Bethel

Lamont Cleavland Bethel was born September 18, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina, the fifth child of twelve born to the Yvonne Nelson Bethel and the late Clevland Bethel. He peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Lamont affectionately known as “Mack II,” was educated in the public schools of Richland County.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Patricia Ann Edwards and to their union three children were born. 

Lamont accepted Christ as his personal Savior on November 23rd at Macedonia Baptist Church, and attended regularly until his health declined.

Though he is on longer physical with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, CIevland Bethel; sisters, Veronica Bethel and Cynthia Geiger; and son, Terrell Bethel.

Those who are forever cherishing fond and precious memories of Lamont are his loving wife, Patricia Bethel; loving daughters, Natasha (Lamonte) Bostick; and Lawanda Bethel; sixteen (16) grandchildren; seven (7) great-grandchildren; caring brothers, Charles (Fannie) Bethel, Errick (Linda) Bethel, Mark (Taneca Matthews) Etheridge, Arthur Etheridge, Jr., Marvin Etheridge, and; loving sisters, Christine Bethel, Michelle (Kenny) Andrews, Jamie Bethel and Sharee Bethel; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly
