Lakeisha M. Washington Obituary

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lakeisha Washington, who entered eternal rest on May 6, 2026.

Lakisha M. Washington was born March 19, 2009, in Charleston, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of  Jaquan Washington.  On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, she entered eternal rest to be an angel with the Lord.

At the age of three (3) Lakeisha moved to Charlotte, NC with her father and siblings. As Jaquan continued to strive towards a better life for his family they relocated to Columbia South Carolina. Lakeisha  was a beautiful light whose love, laughter, and spirit touched everyone blessed to know her. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her deeply.

As a young girl, Lakeisha carried a bright and vibrant energy that could fill any room. She was known for her warm smile, caring heart, and unforgettable personality. Whether she was laughing with friends, spending time with family, or simply being herself, she brought comfort and joy to those around her. Her presence was magnetic, and the love she gave so freely will never be forgotten.

Lakeisha attended Westwood Academy, where she continued to grow into a beautiful and talented young woman with big dreams for her future. She was also a gifted hairstylist who discovered her passion at an early age. She loved making others feel beautiful and confident, and her creativity and eye for beauty reflected the caring soul she truly was. Beyond her talent, Lakeisha dreamed of becoming a nurse, inspired by the legacy of her late aunt, Lakesha Monique Washington, whom she was lovingly named after.

One of the most special bonds in Lakeisha’s life was the close relationship she shared with her devoted father, Jaquan Washington. Their connection was built on unconditional love, protection, laughter, and countless cherished moments together. She was truly daddy’s girl, and the love between them was undeniable. Her passing leaves an unimaginable pain in his heart and in the hearts of all who stood beside her throughout her life.

Lakeisha joins her beloved sister, Nyasia Aikens, in heaven; along with her great grandma, Ruth Washington; grandmother, Annette Jarvis; aunt, Lakesha Washington; grandmother, Barbara Frayer; and her aunts,  Darlene Frayer and Kathy Frayer.

Those who will forever cherish Lakeisha’s fond and precious memories are her loving father, Jaquan Washington; her loving and caring siblings, Janiya Washington, Tianna Washington, Jaquan Washington Jr., Kiondre Washington,  Marqueis Frayer, Lamar Frayer, Rakeem Montgomery, Alexis Johnson, Handa Jones, Davis Frayer, Shaquan Washington, Natalia Johnson, and Gaxenia Dawson. Lakeisha also leaves behind countless family members, friends, classmates, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory and the beautiful impact she made during her life.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every moment we were blessed to share with Lakeisha. Her love and spirit will continue to shine through all who loved her.

“Those we love never truly leave us.

There are things that death cannot touch.”

Forever in our hearts.

Forever our butterfly.
