Kimani Khary Harte affectionately known as “Buck” was born on July 29, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, the beloved son of the late Rufus Harte, Jr. and Lula Mae Harte. He departed this life on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Columbia, SC.
Kimani was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School in the class of 1993. Soon after graduation he entered into the military. Army Branch and served 20 plus years until he retired. Kimani went back to school and got his Associates Degree in Business from Midlands Technical College May 2018. After years of being retired he ventured back into the workforce as a beloved Substitute Teacher. Kimani married the love of his life Evelmary Harte in 2014.
Kimani loved football and when he played in High School he was great at it. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys and in baseball it was the New York Yankees. He also loved cooking, music, performing karaoke, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Kimani was a loving, and caring father, son, brother, godfather, cousin and friend. He was the life of the party and would help anyone in whatever way he could. He had such a warm smile that would brighten up any room, and an infectious laughter that was contagious. Kimani will truly be missed.
In addition to his father and mother, Kimani was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Rina Nelson.
Kimani leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Evelmary Hart; children, Kimani Harte, Jr., Eveny Harte, Elizabeth (Ana Crespo) Carrasco, Jose Carrasco, Kameron Harte and Jeremiah Harte; loving grandchild Kamari Harte; caring brother Jamaal Spearman; caring sister Sadique Harte; loving aunts Eloise Westmoreland, Florence Kendrick, Henry Ann Grant, Wilhelmina Sanders, and Lena Campbell; godchildren Lauren and Aiden Skinner; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
