Julia Louise Hendrix entered this life on December 2, 1958 to the late Lou Helen Hendrix Jackson and the late Ernest Williams Sr. She departed this earthly life peacefully at home 323-D Percival Road on November 25, 2018 due to a life-long battle with an illness/sickness/
Julia or as everyone knows her “JuJu” received her education from Richland County Public Schools. She was infamous for her cooking, hair braiding, and babysitting. If she did not baby sit you, braid your hair, or at least give you a plate, you did were not around Gonzales Gardens. She was known to be the “Candy Lady.” Juju also loved gathering around her family and loved ones and listened to music.
Juju was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mr. Samuel “Sambo” Brown, her sister, Pandeora Hughey, and two grandchildren, Leilani, and Jerade Jr.
Julia leaves behind her three sons, Calvin L. Hendrix of Columbia, SC, Jerade (Xiomara) Hendrix of Columbia, SC, and Jerome (Tiffany) Hendrix of Hopkins, SC; one sister, Constance Lewis of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two aunts, Lucille (Darnell) Williams of Aiken, SC, and Francis Pickney, four nephews, Casmir (Amanda) Sanders, Demetrius (Tsushima) Hughey, Demitrics (Tarsheka) Sanders, and Michael Sanders; two nieces Constantine (Ned) Cooper, and Africana Bell, who was raised as a daughter of her own; one close friend, Ms. Shirley Reynolds; and a host of cousins, family members, and loved ones all of whom loved her and will miss her.
