Judy P. Cooper Obituary

Judy Priscilla Cooper was born on August 27, 1956, in Summerville, South Carolina.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Chief Petty Officer L. C. Moore (Retired) and Julia Simmons Moore.  She departed this life surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at her residence, in Sumter South Carolina

Living in a military family, Judy attended public schools in Rhode Island, Detroit, Michigan, Norfolk, Virginia, and Charleston, South Carolina where she excelled as an Honor Student.  She received her C.N.A. at Trenholm State Technical College in Montgomery, Alabama.

Judy made a commitment to the Lord at an early age and was baptized. She later joined the Green’s Tabernacle Baptist Church of Macon, Georgia, and was a faithful choir member until she moved back to Montgomery, Alabama.

Judy married the love of her life, Technical Sgt. U.S. Air Force (Retired) Charles L. Cooper Sr. on February 25, 1978. Cooper remained her constant love and devoted friend throughout her life. God blessed their union with four devoted children. Judy loved her family, and she dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was very loving, and everyone who met her instantly fell in love with her beautiful spirit.  Judy was always full of life and lit up the room with joy. She loved dancing and singing to her favorite shows.  Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.

Ms. Cooper was also proceeded in death by her brother, Vincent E. Moore.

Those who are cherishing Judy’s fond and precious memories are her loving children, Latasha Shante Savannah (Secedrick) Cooper Crockett, Charles L. Cooper Jr., Le’Keisha S. Cooper of Montgomery, Al, and Latoya N. (Travalle) Cooper Jenkins of Sumter, SC; six loving grandchildren, Makayla S. Crockett, Secedrick Crockett Jr., Keshaun L. Cooper, Chanel L. Jenkins, LaDarius Jenkins, and Tiana G. Mitchell; two caring brothers, Lionel Moore of Troy, MI; and Colonel Clyde A. (Rosalind)  Moore, U.S. Army Retired  of National Harbor; half-brother, Stacey Swimp of Flint, MI; four loving sisters, Debra R. Moore of Detroit, MI; Evangelist Shirley J. (Rev. Dr. Clifford) Little of Macon, GA; Brenda G. Conway  of Lansing, Michigan; and Donna P. Moore of River Rouge, MI; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her, but rejoice that she is resting with the Lord.
