Mr. Johnny Murphy was born on December 6, 1934 in Camden, SC. He was the beloved son of the late Joe and Marie Murphy. He departed this life to be with the Lord on April 16, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland.
He was a member of at St. Matthew Baptist Church of Lugoff. He was employed by Greenview Elementary and retired after 35 years of service.
Though he is no longer with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha A. Scott-Murphy; daughter, Shirley Warren, Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Lashunda M. Murphy; brother, Egypt Murphy, Camden, SC; two sisters, Elizabeth Murphy and Sarah Murphy, Newark, NJ.
Mr. Johnny Murphy leaves to cherish his precious memories, three daughters, Betty (Johnny)Burgess, Virginia Murphy and Loretta Murphy all of Columbia, SC; sons, Robert Murphy, Keith Thomas and Floyd Murphy all of Columbia, SC; brother, Nathaniel Murphy of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Loraine M. Bookert, Clevetta (Eric) Lindler, Cleveland Sligh, III, Augustus Bookert, Joshua G. (Nakia) Murphy, Quinton A. Moultrie and Keyshawn Murphy all of Columbia, SC, Clay (Natasha) Murphy, and Daniel Brown of Jacksonville, FL, Deundra James of NC and Maxton Woodberry of Hemingway, SC and a host of other relatives and friends whom will miss him dearly.
