John "JE" Edward Robinson, Jr.

John Edward Robinson, Jr. was born June 22, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of Carolyn Ann McGrier Robinson and the late John Edward Robinson, Sr. He departed this earthly life on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Seven Oaks Rehabilitation Center, in Columbia, South Carolina.

“J.E.,” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County where he graduated from Eau Claire High School. He was employed with Applebee’s and The International House of Pancakes before his health declined.

Mr. Robinson was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Irmo, South Carolina.

He enjoyed riding his bicycle and moped and being around family and friends. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.

In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra McGrier Reese.

He is loving survived by his children, Samantha Canzater-Crum, Joshua Ja’cell Burkett, Sarneisha Burkett, Jordan Burkett and Sarlesha Boyles; grandchildren, Sagohn Canzater, Samaria Canzater, Jamari Canzater, and Darrien Canzater-Crum; loving mother, Carolyn M. Robinson; loving and caring sisters, Rachal William Lindsay and Valeria Robinson Smith;  and special friend, Leslie Burkett; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
