On Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:15 AM, a loving husband and father peacefully entered into eternal rest at his home in West Columbia, SC.

Joe Hunter was born in Barnwell, SC on April 16, 1948 to the late Joe Hunter, Sr. and Annie Laura Hunter.  He was educated in the Barnwell public schools and was a proud 1967 graduate of Butler High School.  In 1975 he married Elaine A. He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Elaine A. Hunter of West Columbia, SC; children, Tiffany Hunter and Joe (Deonna) Hunter, both of West Columbia, SC; Jennifer (Walter) Hunter-Clark and Cory Hunter, both of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren, Tyrell, Darius, Alexcia, Takiyah, Samaria, Deja and Alivia; three great grands, Zuri, Zyah and Malayah; goddaughter, Dorothy Guess; pet dog, Ginger; six siblings, Deacon Harold (Francis) Hunter of West Columbia, SC, Rosetta Williams of Hollywood, FL, Geraldine Hunter Etheridge of Columbia, SC, Pastor Willie (Jeanette) Hunter of Charlotte, NC, Willie Mae Toole of Aiken, SC, and Bishop Thomas (Patricia) Hunter of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
