Jesse T. Montgomery Obituary

Jesse T. Montgomery, affectionately known as “Thomas,” was born April 9, 1954, in Hopkins, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Jesse Jr. and Janie Mae Johnson Montgomery. He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of seventy-two.

A proud product of Richland District One Schools; Jesse graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1973. He furthered his education at Midlands Technical College, where he earned an Associate degree in Engineering Technology: Electronics Engineering Technology on May 20, 1977.

Jesse was baptized at an early age at St. James Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina, where he began his spiritual foundation.

He honorably served his country in the United States Airforce and was discharged on December 8, 1978.

Known as a loving and protective big brother, Jesse was deeply devoted to his family. He also became a familiar and cherished presence in the Crossing Creek community, where neighbors fondly remember his daily walks—always with a cup of coffee in hand—no matter the weather.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Robinson.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Jessica Jacobs; two granddaughters, Jaila Jacobs and Ciara Manuel; and one great-granddaughter, Arianna Adams. He is also survived by his devoted and caring brothers, John Q. Montgomery, Rev. David L. (Denise) Montgomery, Calvin E.  (Deadre) Montgomery, Harry R. (Lynda) Montgomery, and Tony Anthony Montgomery; his loving sister, Connie Days; a special sister, Darlene B. Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.
