On November 6, 1956, in Cochran, Georgia, Jesse Lee Johnson Jr. was born to his parents, the late Jessie (Lizzie Mae) Johnson of Cochran, GA., Jr.
After successfully completing Bleckley County High School in
1976, Jesse decided to pursue a career with the United States Army where he served 27 years. Shortly after his retirement from the military he worked for the United States Postal Service for an additional15 years.
On Monday, September 27, 2021 Jesse answered God's call to come home while at his home in Kissimmee, Florida and
peacefully transitioned to eternal life.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jessie Lee Johnson Ill of Charleston SC; four sisters, the late Catherine Johnson and
Laura Sowell of Passaic N.J. and the late Cassundra Johnson of Cochran, GA., the late Modie Miller of Savanah, GA.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife Patricia Johnson of Columbia, SC; one brother, Jasper (Coretta) Johnson of Belleview, FL.; three sisters, Elvonia Johnson, Felica Johnson and Keziah Johnson, all of Cochran, GA; a devoted cousin Cary Taylor of Cochran, GA; best friends, Sgt. Dozier and Carey Richardson of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives,
and friends.
