Jerry Leon Watkins was born on November 26, 1964, in Columbia South Carolina, the son of the late James Watkins, Sr., and Mae Frances Scott Watkins. He was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2025.
Jerry was educated in Public Schools of Richland County where he graduated from Eau Claire High School in the Class of 1984.
Jerry was currently employed with Richland County School District One and formally with The City of Columbia Street Division Department. The Jack of all Trades, he was knowledgeable in fixing cars and other various skills. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with family.
His hobbies included fishing, watching westerns, and listening to oldies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother Frances Grooms Scott, two brothers, James Watkins, Jr and Michael Watkins, Sr. two sisters, Sherrie Davis and most recently, Catherine Williams.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories one devoted son, Mr. Jerry White of Columbia, South Carolina; one loving and devoted aunt, Ms. Hazel Scott of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, Mr. Martie Davis; five nieces, Ms. Tara McClinton, Ms. Doris Davis, Ms. Ashley Alexander, Ms. Kelly Alexander and Ms. LaToya Watkins, all of Columbia, South Carolina; five nephews, Mr. Brian Watkins, Mr. Bobby Alexander, Mr. Nickie White, Mr. Levon Davis and Mr. Michael Watkins, Jr of Charlotte, North Carolina; two great nieces, Ms. Angel Davis, and Ms. Jiah Maxwell; two great nephews, Mr. Gabriel Davis and Mr. Josiah Maxwell, all of Columbia, South Carolina; three special cousins, Mr. James Scott, Jr. and Mr. Arnold Scott of Columbia, South Carolina, and Ms. Kandiss Scott of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends who will miss him tremendously.
