Jeanette Lake Obituary

It is said that there are three words in the English vocabulary that are solemn than all the others. They are: Life, Death, and Eternity. Life is more serious than to die. The object of Christ’s death was life. Death gives you a more abundant life. Death is moving out of this cold, dark, friendless world into eternal sunshine.

Jeanette Lake affectionately known as “Candy” was born December 15, 1956 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Brundell Lake in Columbia, SC. Candy departed this life January 31, 2019 at Providence Hospital after a brief stay.
Candy educated in the public school of Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina.

The passing of Candy was accomplished in the short spar of sixty-two years, though she is no longer physically with us she will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and know her. Candy had her own unique way of showing her love to those who came in contact with her. She enjoy spending her time with friends laughing, talking, and joking around. She was always making sure she was happy and enjoying life to the fullest. Candy was preceded in death by her baby girl, Tonya Lake; three brothers, Brundell Lake, Jr., James Lake, Sr., and Cleveland Lake, Sr.; and one sister, Barbara Simon.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Taymiko Lake and Ma’Nieasha (Marcus) Veal of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Marcus Lake, Shanequa Lake, Zaria Lake, and Feasia Lake; one great-grandchild, Master Jordan Lake; siblings, Pastor Doris Shuler, Delores (Monroe) Dreher, Essie Lake, Katie Bolden, Vernelle Hubbard, Mary Ann Fletcher, Shirley Fletcher, Melvin (Mary) Lake, Arthur Lake, and James Fletcher; lifelong friends, Mary “Hope” Savage and Yvonne Bethel, and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
