Jazzmyne Jaytia Onisha Green was born on July 31, 1996 to Otisha Joan Mickens and Jamey O. Green. “Jazz” as she was affectionally known, went home to be with the Almighty Father on Monday, November 15, 2021. Jazzmyne attended Brookland Cayce High School. Jazz loved transforming women and bringing the beauty of God out of them. She believed that in God’s eyes, all women were beautiful. Jazz was a young entrepreneur at Kardash Flow Beauty Salon. She was a former Double Dutch participant and earned many trophies and rewards. She was also a cheerleader and stepper and served many years in curriculum at Martin Luther King Park. Jazzmyne was a member of Brookland Baptist Church. She lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Jazzmyne was preceded in death by her son, Sentell Brooks; her grandmother, Ernestine C. Green and grandfather, James Thomas Green, Sr., and aunt, Shonda Shivers.
Jazzmyne is survived by her two sons, Greyson Durham and Major Durham; her mother, Otisha Joan Mickens and father, Jamey O. Green; three sisters, Latierria Green, Summer Patterson and Trevea Heyward; two brothers, Demitrius Troy McCants and Jaysiah Patterson; maternal grandmother, Reverend Gwen Daniels Patterson and maternal grandfather, Minister Calvin Shivers (Rosa); three nieces, Beautiful Tylie Rivers, Lamiyah and London Green; two maternal uncles, Antonio Daniels (Beneeka) and Otis “Buddy” Daniels; three paternal uncles, James Thomas Green, Jr, Joseph Green and Jeremy Jerome Green; five maternal aunts, Chaka Daniels, Tewonda Shivers Anderson (Charles), Shneek Shivers Morris (Shennard), Capri Brigman (Ali) and Stacy Shivers Gbadoku (Kodyo); two paternal aunts, Zalander Green and Belinda Green and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
