Janice Renee Brown

Mrs. Janice Renee Robinson Brown was born October 6, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of the late Leroy, Sr. and Catherine Pauling Robinson.  She departed this life peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Janice was reared in the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community in District 3 where she was educated in the public schools of New York and  attended Eli Whitney Vocational High School in Brooklyn. During her time at Eli Whitney, she was a member of the Volleyball Team and a Cheerleader. 

In 1980, she married Clayton Brown. After relocating to South Carolina, she united with Heyward AME Church where she sang on the Mass Choir. Before her heath declined she enjoyed crafting, decorating, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Corey Brown, brother, Leroy Robinson, Jr., and sister, Dianell Randolph.

She is lovingly survived by daughter Shante’ Brown Pugh and her husband, Johnnie of Cayce, SC; children, Zavier Brown, Dejun Brown, and Shaniqua Brown; grandchildren,  Jayla Pugh, Amani Conyers, Laila Pugh, Caden Brown, Corey Brown, Jr., Tyler Green, Cali Conyers, and Johnnie Pugh; siblings, JoAnn Robinson Moore of Blakeslee, PA, Horace “Sonny” (Beverly) Robinson of Atlanta, GA, Sharon Cunningham of San Diego, CA, Westley (Shareka) Robinson of Brooklyn, NY and Michelle Robinson of Atlanta, GA; special niece, Carolyn Cain of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss.
