Janice Reese Wilson Obituary

Janice Reese Wilson was born September 26, 1958, the beloved daughter of the late Janie Lee Resse and Paul Anderson.  She passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Janice was educated in the Public Schools of Richland School District One where she graduated from Eau Claire High School. She continued her education at Midlands Technical College where she obtained Associate Degrees in Business Management and Marketing. She continued her matriculation at Columbia Collage where she went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was employed by the Department of Education from which she retired after more than twenty-five (25) years of service. Because of her love for children, she came out of retirement and worked as a substitute teacher.

She was united in Holy Matrimony  to the late Frank H. Wilson, Jr. Their union of love was blessed with  thirty-four years together before he went home to be with the Lord.

Mrs. Wison was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member who was involved in various organizations during her tenure.

Janice was also regularly active in the community , and would often help with clothing donations, voter registration drives, mentoring youth, as well as being active in her neighborhood homeowner’s association. Janice also loved to travel, write poetry, read and had a tremendous love for her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dwayne “Lil Bit” Myers, and Johnny Carnell Lowman.

Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Jancie are her loving daughter, Alexandria; and Thaddeus; three grandchildren, loving sisters, Eileen Wheeler, Joanie (Ray) Randolph, Pamela Lowman, and Tracey Grant; caring brothers, Vincent (Joanne)  Lowman, Bruce (Cynthia) Grant; aunts, Edna Delbridge and Mary Ann Jenkins; a host of nephews, nieces , cousins. and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
