James TreVaughn Black, II Obituary

James TreVaughn Black II, 22, was unexpectedly taken from family and friends on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  James, affectionately called “Tre`” was born September 20, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina to his loving parents James and Ella S. Black.

Tre` was baptized in Jesus Christ Name at an early age.  He attended the Emmanuel Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Tre` was born and raised in the church.

He was very smart and intelligent, and he had a photographic memory.  He had aspiration to be a professional football player, however, due to two torn ACL injuries, he was not able to pursue that dream.  He was also a gifted drummer.  Tre` received formal drumming lessons, but when given the opportunity, he was very skillful on the drums.

Tre’s educational foundation began with preschool at Covenant Christian Academy and North Minister Early Childhood Development Center.  He furthered his education in the Lexington School District 2.  While attending Davis Elementary, he remained on the Honor Roll, and during middle school, he continued to strive for academic excellence.  As a member of the band class Tre` played the French Horn.  While at Airport High School, Tre` was a member of the Eagle Football team where he was a defensive end.  After graduating from Airport in 2018, Tre` continued his education at Hocking College in Hocking, Ohio with a major in Electrical Engineering.  Due to COVID-19 he returned home.

Tre` and his dad had many business adventures and endeavors.  He was currently employed with J & E Lawn Services.

Tre` was preceded in death by his younger brother, Prince Timothy Black.

He will be sorely missed but will remain in the hearts of his loving and nurturing parents, Minister James E. and Sis. Ella S. Black; two loving, closeknit sisters, Deja and Aleah Black, all of Columbia, South Carolina; a loving niece, Skylar S. Hayward; and an adorable nephew, Samir Hayward; a host of loving and caring uncles, aunts, cousins, loving friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
