James Franklin Davis was born on October 20, 1959, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Osmond R. and Helen E. Boyd Davis. On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, he departed his earthly life for eternal life with the Lord.
James was educated in the public school system of Richland School District One. He was employed at Seawell's Catering and was later employed with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.
James was a member of First Nazareth Baptist Church where he attended faithfully until his health declined.
A true servant to others James was a dedicated volunteer with the Salvation Army. In his spare time he enjoyed playing a good game of pool and being around family and friends.
Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Huiett.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of James are his loving and devoted wife, Veria J. Davis; his loving and caring sister, Avon (Edward) Gary; devoted bothers, Jeffery B. (Crystal) Davis, Joseph L. Davis, and Tyrone D. Davis; caring mother-in law, Goria Johnson; and brothers-in law, Mack Johnson Jr., Antione (Phyllis) Johnson, and Anthony Johnson; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
