James Walker Henderson was born April 15, 1945, the beloved son of the late Wade and Mamie O’Meater Henderson. He entered eternal rest on Friday, December 12, 2025, at PRISMA Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital in Irmo, South Carolina.
James resided at the Lowman Home in White Rock, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools in Fairfield County and was employed with Southern Railway and other jobs throughout his work career. He found immense joy in the game of pool, and he was a good shot! Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Willie, Clyde, John, Lionell, Moses, Bennie Lee, and Jacob Henderson; and two sisters, Alberta James and Janie Gambrell.
He leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to his children, Juanita Henderson, James Henderson, both of Columbia, SC, Candance Reeves, of Atlanta, GA, and Penny Henderson, of Irmo, SC; eight grandchildren, Michael, Xavier, James Jr, Shay, James II, Jameka, Mychealla, and Kayden; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie Thompson and Mary Henderson, both of Jenkinsville, SC; a special friend, Deborah Culler, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives, and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
