James Lamont Thomas

James Lamont Thomas, of Columbia, South Carolina died unexpectedly on July 5, 2020, at the age of 19.

James was born November 21, 2000, in Battle Creek, Michigan.  James attended Lower Richland High School where he helped to win the championship game and received a championship ring in 2017.  James also was a member of the AAU basketball team for several years.  

When James wasn’t playing basketball, you would find him in the mall shopping or at the breakfast table with a big bowl of cereal or two.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Toshia and Chris Clark; Father and stepmother James Damont and Sheree Thomas; his brothers Ben Jointer and Jayshaun Thomas of Columbia South Carolina; sisters, Breona Jointer of Columbia South Carolina, Samayah Thomas and Nylah Thomas of Nashville Tennessee; maternal grandfather, Sam Jones Jr. (Sharon) of Hopkins, South Carolina; fraternal grandmother, Ethel Thomas of Battle Creek, Michigan; fraternal grandfather, James Weaver of Tennessee.  He is also survived by his special friend India Larkins of Bowman, South Carolina, and his two nieces and nephew, several aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Delma Ann Hutchinson, and two aunts, Lawanda Jones, and Sherron Hutchinson.
