Evangelist James Pearson Jr. was born on June 27, 1949, in Summerton, South Carolina, the son of the late Reverend James Pearson and Carrie Felder Pearson. On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, he peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength.
James received his education at Summerton High School and later graduated from the Job Corps. He worked as a security guard and was also a dedicated entrepreneur, owning and operating his own lawn service and window cleaning business.
He met and married the love of his life, Evangelist Fannie Mae Pearson in 1973. From this loving union, they were blessed with three children: Tyrone Pearson, Patricia Goethe, and Bobby Pearson.
Evangelist Pearson was a devoted man of faith. He was a member of House of God Miracle Temple, where he served under the leadership of the late Apostle Ocela Blue. He later attended Faith, Hope & Charity, under the leadership of the late Dr. Mary L. Jacobs.
Evangelist James Pearson had a joyful spirit and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed going to the park, writing songs, and singing. Above all, he loved uplifting others, sharing kindness, and spending meaningful time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Albert Pearson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Evangelist Fannie Mae Pearson; his children, Tyrone Pearson, Patricia (Harold) Goethe, and Bobby Pearson; one sister, Daisy Mae Ragin; one brother, Tommie Pearson; daughters-in-law, Linda Pearson, Joy, and Bianca; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three god-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives, and dear friends, who will dearly miss him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant. . . enter into the joy of the Lord.”
– Matthew 25:23
