James Matthew Miles, Jr. was born December 9, 1968, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late James Matthew Miles, Sr. and Pastor Virginia Royster Miles. He departed this earthly life on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.
“Wool”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One where he graduated from W. J. Keenan High School.
He was employed as a landscaper for many years and he loved the outdoors.
James was a hard-working man who worked diligently in the Greenview Community, by serving the disabled and the elderly. He lived a very simple, but rewarding life. He was kind, dependable, and a gracious man, not wanting anything in return. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all those whose lives he so lovingly touched.
He is lovingly survived by his sisters, Alfelia (Willie) Carolina, Toni (Leroy) Rhodan; and brother, Jon Miles; nieces, Abriana Carolina; nephew, Desmond Rhodan; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
