James Henry Glover, Jr. was the son of the late James and Wilhelmenia Glover. He was educated in the Richland County Public School. He was employed with the City of Springdale, South Carolina for many years until his retirement.
James was an avid gardener. He bragged about his plants and vegetables all the time. He made sure that when you came to visit, you had to see his little garden he had planted beside his house.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Harold, Michael, Stanford, John Jones, Ronald, Mattie Glover and Annette Jones.
James leaves to cherish the precious memories of his devoted wife of the home of 40 plus years – Ellen Wilson Glover, two daughters: Rochell Glover and Melinda Glover of New Jersey, one son – Michael Tate of Columbia, SC, four sisters: Brenda (John) Portee, Sr; Dale (Timothy) Portee; Catherine Johnson; Rosa Glover all of Columbia, South Carolina. Three brother-inlaws – John Johnson of Columbia, Willis Wilson of Virginia; Timothy (Julia) Wilson of Columbia. Three sister-in-laws; Jamie (Reginald) Parker of Charlotte, North Carolina; Audrey Gallman; Claretha Roberts both of Columbia and a host of Grand Children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
