Jamal X. Reese Obituary

Jamal Xavier Reese, lovingly known as " Guwop Mr. Reese", "Dababy Reese", and "Reese" was born January 3, 1989, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of  Ricky Reese and Evelyn Gailliard in Columbia, South Carolina. He passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Jamal was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One where he graduated from Dreher High School, in the Class of 2007.  He continued his education at Midlands Technical College  where he studied Accounting.

Affectionately known as "Guwop Mr. Reese" throughout the Social Media World, Jamal was a brutally honest outspoken person.  A trusted counselor to many young and old, he was the life of the party, and his presence would light up any room he entered. He was a true "Capricorn,” and everyone  knew he was a Green Bay Packers and Lakers Fan. His most prominent quote was "GET YOUR LIFE UP".

Jamal leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents, Evelyn Gailliard and Ricky Reese; loving sisters,  Ashley (Aaron) Harley, and Lashonda Coleman;  and  caring brother, Matthew Mickens; adoring nephews, Aj, Amarion, Jeremiah, Elijah, Messiah, Joey, Jordan, Jovanni, and Josiah; adoring niece, Jayla; great niece,  Aubriella; and great nephew, Kyrie; along with  a host of loving aunties; uncles; and the "Real-Life with Reese Family" and the "WPC 48 Family".

Jamal Reese will be remembered for His Love of dressing, Jordan's, his dreads, and his outspoken opinion and straight to the point no matter if it left a scar; but most of all he will be remember for the love he shared with his family and friends.

To know Guwop Mr. Reese, was to love, love him.
