Mrs. Jacqueline Bernice Smith-Ross was born on March 28, 1958 in Columbia, SC to the late Mrs. Nessie Pearl Smith-Hill and the late Odell H. Penn. She entered eternal rest Friday, January 8, 2021at 3:31 am at Baptist Medical Center to be with her heavenly father.
She was affectionately known as “Big Jack: while growing up in Richland County and touched the hearts of all who had the great fortune to have know her.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Willie Ross. Mrs. Ross became a member of First Nazareth Baptist until her health failed.
Over the years she became known for her great style and cooking. She enjoyed fishing, playing card games and Bingo with family and friends.
Mrs. Jacqueline Bernice Smith-Ross leaves to cherish her most precious memories, two sons, Antonio (Shene) and Lenardo (Precious); daughter, Qwanda Smith, all of Columbia.; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren four sisters, Catherine Williams, Wendy Renee Hills, Ruby Penn and Deloise Walker; four brothers, Leroy J. Smith, Levern Smith, Roladna Smith and Curtis Hill all of Columbia; special aunts, Mrs. Sally Jeter, Mrs. Beatrice James, Bernice Doctor and Mrs. Lola Mack; step-children, Travis Sims, and Kim Hayes Mark Ross and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends.
