Jacqueline Rena Johnson was born December 2, 1966, in Florence County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Jenkins Milligan, Jr. and Barbara Smith, and the stepdaughter of Ellen M. Milligan. After a brief illness, she departed this life for eternity with the Lord on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Providence MUSC in Columbia, South Carolina.
Affectionately called “Jackie” by her family and friends, Jacqueline was educated in the public schools in Sumter County where she attended Maywood High School. Knowing the importance of an education, she continued her education and graduated with her GED from Bamberg Job Corp.
As a young adult, Jacqueline joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Jackie loved the Lord with all her heart. Upon relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, she united with and joined Glory Church International where she attended faithfully until her health declined. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Jacqueline are her caring stepmother, Ellen M. Milligan of Vance, South Carolina; four caring sisters, Taiwanna Milligan of Vance, South Carolina; Tara Thompson of Eutawville, South Carolina; Theresa Milligan of Mooresville, North Carolina; and Clotilde Barcourt of Jamaica, New York; two aunts, Anne Lee of Brooklyn, New York; and Ida (Joshua) Harris of Bronx, New York; six (6) nephews, three (3) nieces; one (1) grandnephew; two (2) grandnieces; a special friend and caregiver, Josherbert Thompson of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
