Mr. Howard “Rap” Worthy, 71, of 103 Berry Street, Fort Mill, SC joined hands with the Master and peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on October 11, 2021, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Born March 5, 1950, to Arleather Worthy White in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Howard was educated in Fairfield County and graduated from McCrorey Liston High School.
Howard confessed his faith in the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Lower Hope Station Missionary Baptist Church in Blair, SC. Years later, he joined Silver Mount Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member of the Usher Board.
Howard was a veteran of the United States Army and served 2 terms of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his mother, Howard was preceded in death by his sister Philicene White; brothers Johnny Leanzie “Sonny” Worthy and Dwight “Brick” Worthy; his sisters-in-law Mary Woodard Worthy, and Connie Jeter Worthy.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers James “Nick” (Josephine) Worthy of Columbia, South Carolina and Herman Worthy of Winnsboro, South Carolina; a special friend of the family Ugena Cramer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
