Heyward Johnson

Mr. Heyward (Fair Brown) Johnson, son of late Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Annie Johnson, was born September 8, 1931.  He departed this life on November 20, 2018, at Life Care Nursing Home in Columbia, SC at the age of 87 years old.

Mr. Johnson attended public schools of Richland County and was later employed by Columbia Steel Company, from which he retired. He also owned and operated his own log lumber company.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: , his daughters Lynetta Sumter, Judy( Daniel) Howell, Jackie Grooms, and Alberta (Seymour) Grant from Gadsden ; His sons Heyward Gunter, Micheal (Christine) Roberts, and Kyron Gilmore; His sisters Janie Myles, Annie Mae (Wesley )Washington, and Mattie Grooms. His brothers Sam (Francis) Johnson. Heyward Johnson was preceded in death by sister Ella Mae Ellison and Brothers Grant Johnson and Wiley Johnson. He leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
